A welcoming place to know, love and serve God.
Historians tell us the world has known 21 great civilizations, all of which have come and gone (Egypt, Babylon, Greece, Rome…). Human kingdoms rise and fall, but the psalms tell us,
The LORD is king; His throne is everlasting!
When you know Jesus the King, you are a citizen of His kingdom. And the by-laws of the kingdom is spelled out in our gospel: care for each other; treat one another with respect; show God’s love for others like Jesus did while he walked on earth.
This is your new identity, your spiritual character---a citizen of heaven. Many don’t believe in the Kingdom of Heaven, and that’s a shame. Civilization hasn’t boasted a very good record of successful humanitarian kingdoms. It seems the secular kingdom by-laws are power, greed and domination. If we all followed Jesus’ kingdom rules the world would be a wonderfully different place.
I guess that’s what the second coming and the last days are all about---everybody living together following the law of the gospel, the law of love, hope and expectation.
